This afternoon, we made Static-Powered Dancing Ghosts! We all cut out a ghost shape on tissue paper. We blew up balloons and tied them. Then we rubbed the balloons through our hair very quickly to create a static charge. Slowly we brought our balloons near to our ghosts and they began to rise very slowly towards the balloon, some of them looked as though they were dancing! We found out that when you rub the balloon through your hair, invisible electrons build up on the surface of the balloon. The electrons have the power to pull very light objects towards them, our tissue ghosts!
