Please find below a list of reminders for the trip on Thursday:



  • Lunches to be in a plastic disposable bag labelled with the child's name as they will be collected in when your child arrives at school. Please also ensure children have a disposable water bottle.
  • Your child need to pack: a swimming costume/trunks, towel and possibly a hairbrush (if required). 
  • We recommend children to have a spare change of clothes just in case they get wet during the activities (preferably something which can be folded up small in their bag).
  • Children may wish to  bring no more than £5 spending money in a labelled purse. Children will be responsible for this.
  • They can pack a small packet of sweets for the theatre.
  • We aim to leave school by 8:50, children can come in through the office when they arrive at the normal school time to ensure quick registration.
  • We are being collected from the Birmingham Hippodrome at 10:00pm. Please expect children to arrive between 10:40 - 10:50pm depending on traffic.
  • Twitter will be updated with information throughout the day.
  • You may wish to bring 20ps for lockers

TERM Summer


Dear Parents,


This term is another busy term for year 6.  The children will continue to be taught in split classes on a Wednesday and Thursday until the SAT tests which begin on Monday 13th May.  Following the SAT tests, we will be preparing for Confirmation and the end of year production, as well as completing transition units of work.


Below is an outline of the curriculum which we will follow up to the end of the Summer term.

 Light - Identify sources of light & revise facts that light travels in straight lines & opaque objects form shadows. Understand that to see, light needs to enter the eye. Investigate light reflection & refraction, white light made of many colours & the speed of light.


Electricity- Sc4 1a Construct circuits, incorporating a battery & range of switches to make devices work. 1b Find out the effect of changing components in circuits, making bulbs brighter or dimmer.

Breadth of study: 1d Carry out a range of scientific investigations.

2b Recognise there are hazards in physical processes, and assess risks and take action to reduce risks to themselves and others.
