Today we have enjoyed working with students from Cardinal Newman during our 'retreat day.' We have learnt more about the life of Jesus and how he died to save us all from Sin. During our retreat day we did lots of fun activities to make us think about how we could be more like Jesus and to follow in his footsteps. In a very busy but fun day we have completed craft activities, shared experiences through drama, had time to reflect and show ways we can be more kind to one another. Our retreat day ended with a beautiful mass where we offered up our work and prayers to God our Father.

We love to dance!

Secrets to success

Year 1 English

Spring Term

We have been reading Handa's Surprise and Handa's Hen. These books are about a girl who lives in Africa.

We have been looking for clues in the book that show the story is set in Africa.

The children were able to identify the different animals, the clothing the characters wore, the different landscape, the characters names and the tropical fruits.

As part of this topic we have created some watercolour paintings and tasted some new and exciting fruits.
