Uses of Everyday Materials

Children identify and compare the suitability of some everyday materials for particular uses. Plastic and fabrics are looked at in detail. Find out how the shapes of solid objects made from some materials can be changed. Think about new uses for materials.

The Great Fire of London (Trip to Selly Manor)

Look at why the fire started and how it was put out. The children will act out key characters, the crooked houses of London and the raging flames of the great fire itself.
We will investigate the life and times of people living in 1666 including:

Beach Study

Identify seaside locations and features. Explain how beaches are formed. Recognise what people do on UK seaside holidays.
