about us

On behalf of the children, staff and governors, I take great pleasure in welcoming you to Christ the King Catholic Primary School.

We proudly promote and follow the teachings of the Catholic faith ensuring that the Gospel values are at the heart of all that we do. All stakeholders in our Christ the King family support pupils and staff on their journey of faith and work in unison with each other to live out the school mission in their daily lives:

Learning, Growing, Praying together with Christ our King.

Christ the King Catholic Primary School offers all-through primary education for 420 pupils over a split site, complemented by 52 nursery places. The school is located in a residential suburb in north-west Coventry. We are proud to be part of a supportive, friendly and inclusive community. We value the strong partnerships between our families, the Parish and wider community, as we all share the same vision of ensuring our children feel safe, happy, respected and valued in their own right.

The safeguarding of all our children is paramount, and we work hard to ensure that we know our children and their families well. We value the links between the Holy Cross Catholic MAC, the parish and pupil’s families, recognising the shared responsibility we have in the all-round development of all our children.

A vibrant, inclusive learning environment based on a Catholic ethos of compassion, love and respect surrounds pupils at Christ the King. Our teaching philosophy is centred on an environment of mutual respect where the staff, pupils and the whole community work together for the common aim of educating the children in our care to be responsible and worthy citizens of the world. We also have high expectations of all pupils, and through an experienced team of highly committed staff who work in close partnership with parents, we endeavour to achieve high academic standards.

We are committed to ensuring that we help children to live their life to the full, enabling them to achieve their full potential, irrespective of academic ability or social background. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum, which includes enrichment days, creative projects, sporting opportunities, leadership responsibilities and wide range of extra-curricular activities. Our school days are often enriched with visitors, visits, events and activities to inspire in each child a joy for learning that we hope will last for life!

We strive to ensure each child reaches his or her full potential – developing their faith, confidence, skills and achievements. We are committed to supporting all pupils to develop strong character traits, because at Christ the King, we believe that this will allow all pupils to develop a greater understanding of their emotional well-being. As well as our statutory PSHE and RSHE obligations, we ensure our wider curriculum reflects the positive character traits that we all feel are a priority.  We are proud to say Christ the King's character traits were chosen by the members of the school community and that most importantly, our pupils had their voices heard.

We believe that all members of Christ the King family will be...
