This morning, Year 3 went into Coventy to join some other schools and the general public to celebrate the death of St. Osburga and Lady Godiva and to mark the 1,000th anniversary since the destruction of St. Osburga's convent. We met Lady Godiva at Broadgate and processed to the ruins of the convent. We stopped at the statue of Our Lady of Coventry and we joined Father Tom in saying the Hail Mary. Then he blessed us and we continued our procession to the Cathedral. We all sat down and watched some fantastic dancers, listened to some music and singing, saw a man ride his penny farthing, watched the winning goals of the Coventry City FA Cup win in 1987. It was a fantastic morning, some childen placed tapestries on the back wall of the Cathedral depicting the different times in Coventry. Jack Owens and Thalia played very impoprtant roles in the experience, Thalia was a young Lady Godiva and Jack was her husband. It was a super morning, we all learned a lot about our city. On the way back to school, we passed St. Osburg's Church!
