17.10.19 Yr 6 have participated in performance poetry this afternoon. We looked at the poems created by Benjamin Zephaniah.
We began Black History Month 2019 with an assembly where we recognised lots of famous black people in the quiz. We researched Benjamin Zephaniah before producing some wonderful fact files. We have also appreciated music by famous black musicians and sketched portraits.
15.10.19 - As part of Black History Month, today in Yr 6 our comprehension was based on Nina Simone - I wish I knew how it feels to be free. In this lesson we answered VIPERS questions which helped us to develop our key reading skills. This song explores the dreams of freedom and equality for the singer.
09.10.19 - Today we listened to the inspirational speech by Martin Luther King, JR. From that we have created our own dream artwork.
