Narrative poetry - The Jabberwocky

Mayan Civilization and Benin.

  • a non-European society that provides contrasts with British history – one study chosen from: early Islamic civilization, including a study of Baghdad c. AD 900; Mayan civilization c. AD 900; Benin (West Africa) c. AD 900-1300.

Art/Design and technology

Mayan Civilization & Benin sculpture clay & modrock (Summer 1)

  • to create sketch books to record their observations and use them to review and revisit ideas
  • to improve their mastery of art and design techniques, including drawing, painting and sculpture with a range of materials [for example, pencil, charcoal, paint, clay]  
  • about great artists, architects and designers in history.
  • Design, make, evaluate and to understand and apply technical knowledge to models.


Cooking and nutrition (Summer 2)

  • understand and apply the principles of a healthy and varied diet
  • prepare and cook a variety of predominantly savoury dishes using a range of cooking techniques
  • understand seasonality, and know where and how a variety of ingredients are grown, reared, caught and processed.

Well done children, 100% attendance all year!

Our pupils represented Coventry in the West Midlands Safety finals @ Safeside. They achieved third place and won another £75 cheque for our school! Well done children!

27th June - Cardinal Newman taster day.

22nd June - CTK's EU referendum

17th June - Six of our pupils participated in the WMFS Safety command finals @Coventry fire station. They won and are now through to the Brigade finals @ Safeside where they will be representing the whole of Coventry! Well done children!

14th June - Today Year five had a French breakfast where we exchanged basic French conversation and discussed the different types of food.

10th June - Her Majesty's 90th birthday!

20th May - Our pupils took part in the School Safety Quiz by West Midlands fire service.

20th May - Our year six children were interviewed by our year five children so they could find out all about year six and the challenges they may face next year.

24th March - Well done to the children who achieved 100% attendance during the Spring term and those children with the green certificates who achieved 100% during the academic year so far!
