Non-fiction texts – Beaches/Maps
Stories from other cultures – Anansi stories
Number and place value
Addition and subtraction
Multiplication and division
Measures – length/height, mass
Geometry – properties of shape, direction and movement
Children observe inside seeds and bulbs and describe how they grow into mature plants. They find out and describe how plants need water, light and a suitable temperature to grow and stay healthy. Find seeds in the local environment.
Cooking and Nutrition
Design purposeful products based on design criteria.
Select from and use a range of tools and equipment to perform practical tasks [for example, cutting, shaping, joining and finishing].
Select from and use a wide range of ingredients, according to their characteristics
Use the basic principles of a healthy and varied diet to prepare dishes.
Understand where food comes from.
Know that an aerial view means to look at something from above.
Understand that maps tell us the location of different places.
Understand that compass points can be used to show direction.
