Homework is to be handed in every Monday morning.
A weekly spelling test will take place every Tuesday morning.
Homework will be sent home by Wednesday of each week

- Written Comprehension / Grammar on alternative weeks
- All children are expected to read every night and an adult must sign their reading diary.

EASTER
In this unit the children will be introduced to accounts of the Resurrection appearances of Christ in the four Gospel. They will learn about the different reactions of people to the news that Christ was alive. In this unit the children will study the story of the Ascension and will learn about Christian belief in the presence of Christ in the world today.
PENTECOST
In this unit the children will study the story of Pentecost and identify the effects that it had upon the disciples. They will learn about the missionary activity of the Apostles and some prayers of the Holy Spirit.
OLD TESTAMENT: MOSES – KING DAVID TESTAMENT: MOSES – KING DAVID
In this unit the children will study some important stories about Moses and God’s relationship with the people of Israel. They will also learn about the life of King David. Through this unit children will be introduced to some images of God associated with these stories and also some important religious themes such as prayer and vocation which arise from this study.
SHARING IN THE LIFE OF CHIRST: THE CHURCH AS A COMMUNITY
In this unit the children learn about the Universal Church established on the original teaching of the Apostles. They will reflect upon the Eucharist as the Sacrament which celebrates the Church’s Unity. They will also be given opportunities to find out about religious customs from around the world.
SPECIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In this unit the children will learn about the different tasks and responsibilities given to people in the Church. This will help them to develop their understanding of the Church as the Body of Christ made up of many different people

Ancient Egypt
• Understand what was important to people during ancient Egyptian times.
• Compare the powers of different Egyptian gods.
• Find Egypt on a map.
• Raise questions when confronted with an artefact in order to understand more about this ancient civilisation and select information that is useful in understanding the use of hieroglyphs as a form of communication and recording.
• Address and sometimes devise historically valid questions about change, cause,
similarity by learning about the daily lives of many ancient Egyptian people.
• Construct informed responses that involve thoughtful selection and organisation of
relevant historical information.
• Understand how evidence can give us different answers about the discovery of
Tutankhamun's tomb, noting connections, contrasts and trends over time.
• Develop the appropriate use of historical terms such as 'BC/AD', 'civilisation' and
'artefact'.

- Understand and know where and how a variety of ingredients are grown.
- Prepare ingredients safely and hygienically using appropriate kitchen utensils.

- Measure ingredients to the nearest millilitre accurately and assemble or cook ingredients.
