Week 6

Friday 15th May 2020

Our certificates this week go to two individuals who have shown great commitment and enthusiasm this week…. Well done both!

Good morning my lovelies,

Today is Friday which means you have made it to the end of another week of home learning. Take this time now to give yourself a biggggg pat on the back and say to yourself ‘I’m fantastic’ because you ARE.

I hope you have all enjoyed your week so far and will have a fun, relaxing Friday. The sun is shining this weekend, I plan on taking Bella on a huge walk to make the most out of it.

It is a very special birthday for one of our friends in Class 8 on Sunday ,it is Emily’s birthday! Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Emily, happy birthday to you! We all miss you lots and cannot wait to celebrate with you when we return to school.

Today would be the perfect day to complete something off your growth mindset sheet, or get on TTRS to help us claim the prize!

Take care now children and have a lovely weekend, look after the people around you and don’t forget #spreadpositivitynotgerms.

Lots of love,

Good morning Class 8, I hope you are all doing well and have enjoyed the week so far. Keep sending in your emails of everything you have been up to this week, whether it is related to home learning or whether you have done something fun, I’d love to see it. If you fancy a chat I am here at class8@ctk.coventry.sch.uk.

I also had the idea suggested to me the other day about you guys using Scratch at home, the website we used with the Warwick Uni students? Go to this page https://scratch.mit.edu/ and click on ‘start creating’ to make your own animation. There are pop up tutorials on the website if you require a bit of help.

Today is the first day of our Holy Cross MAC competition on TTRS, so we need to get moving! You can be in any type of game play, you just need to play. Remember practice makes perfect so the more you play, the better you will be. I am slowly creeping up the leader board I noticed yesterday…

Take care and enjoy your Thursday, and your Thursday night clap for the NHS!
Lots of love

Goooood morning to the best class at CTK. How are you all doing this morning? The classroom is very very quiet without you all this morning, I miss hearing Grace ask to tidy the lunch trolley, the sound of Kayleigh doing the dinner orders, and Jacob asking to change his reading book that he has read overnight already! There is so much I miss but we have come so far now and we will all be reunited again soon.

Now if we were in school today it would be us celebrating one very special boy, it is William's birthday today, WHOOOP! Happy birthday William, we hope you have a fabulous day and we are missing you lots.

Today is Wednesday so you will be able to catch up with the Sing N Shine at 2pm with the online Choir. Check out the YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/user/ArmonicoConsort.

Many of you are reading with Get Epic aswell which is fantastic, I receive a little notification and can see how long you are reading for so a big well done to everyone who has accessed that. If you haven't yet, have a look today and see what you think.

You can also have a look at the weekly worship with Dan and Emily at https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=bs36zxL_EE8&app=desktop. There are plenty of catchy tunes there!

Have a lovely day children, thinking of you all.

Tuesday 12th May 2020

Good morning lovely children,

Tuesday already? Where on earth did Monday go… I hope you enjoyed any of the activities you started yesterday and are looking forward to see what Tuesday brings.

Don’t worry if you haven’t started yet, you still have time. If you didn’t manage to complete all of last weeks home learning, don’t worry about catching up on all of it, go at your own pace and choose something you would like to focus on this week. Remember this has and will continue to be for however long, a marathon and not a sprint. We need to keep our energy and motivation up, and we can’t do that if we happen to burn out.

I was very pleased to see children logging on to EPIC reading this week, we have read 25 books so far so keep it up! Lots of people also accessing TTRS and Education City, just drop me an email if you would like your password for any of those websites. The TTRS battle starts on the 14th so we only have two days left to practice before the competition commences, so we need to get on that app!

I wonder if anyone has started to think about their Science Fair project yet, if you give it a google I am sure there are plenty of ideas for questions or experiments you could conduct. I can’t wait to see them!

I hope you all have a lovely Tuesday. Try to do something little to help out at home today, like laying the table or making your own bed, your adults would really appreciate it I am sure.

Monday 11th May 2020

Good morning Class 8!
Today is Monday and we are kickstarting our sixth week of home learning. Where is the time going?! I hope you and your families had an enjoyable Bank Holiday Weekend and are feeling refreshed ready for Monday and all that a new week brings. Lots of you were baking, cooking, having tea parties and making bunting for the occasion! Well done for making the most out of the celebration.

Times like these remind of us of the challenges we can face, and the perseverance that is required of us to make it through. Please take a look at Mr Burke’s weekly mission for more on this.

There are some new learning activities this week on the week 6 learning mat, take a look at what you would like to complete first. Our R.E Learning is a continuation from last week. You will also want to keep recording your observations of your plant this week and have a look at what scientific question or experiment you might conduct for the Science Fair. Good luck!

Have a lovely Monday and take care of yourselves.
