Weekly Message. What will we be learning this week?

Good morning Nursery, 

We are in our final week as Nursery and what fun we have had this year.  This week we will continue to have lots of fun and learning.  It's going to be a very sunny week so please remember to put on your sun cream and bring a water bottle and hat.

Good morning Nursery,

 

We hope you have had a lovely weekend. This week we will be looking at countries of the world and talking about places we have visited e.g, different cities, towns, villages and counties. We will be using scissors to cut out a variety of objects and shapes. In number we will be comparing suitcases and talking about their size and weight.

Good morning Nursery, 

 

This week we will be thinking about our families, we will be drawing pictures of our families and making houses out of lollipop sticks and shapes.  In phonics we will be learning the letter 'r' can you find the letter 'r' on your way to nursery? Have a go at writing it, can you find it in a book? Can you show your grown ups? 

Don't forget to bring your baby photo into Nursery.

Good morning Nursery, 

 

This week we will be reading the Selfish Crocodile. We will be looking at oral hygiene and talking about how to keep our teeth healthy. 

 

As the days are now warmer, please keep an eye on the weather and ensure your child has a sun hat and plenty of sun cream applied at home before they attend their Nursery session.

Good afternoon Nursery,

In mathematics this week we will be learning about the number 7. Can you see a number 7 on your way to nursery?
We will continue sharing the story Jack and the Beanstalk and using our imagination in our role play beanstalk area. 
We will be taking part in some upcycling activities, taking clothes and changing/decorating them.

Good afternoon Nursery,

 

We hope you enjoyed your week and we are looking forward to seeing you on Tuesday.  We are going to have a fun filled first week back.  This week we will be sharing the story Jack and the Beanstalk and will count leaves and take part in lots of story based activities.  We will also have fun taking part in our Squiggle while we Wriggle movement activities making lots of different marks.

Good morning Afternoon,

 

This week we will be focusing upon the Queen's Jubilee.  We have lots of fun activities planned including making crowns with patterns and creating portraits of Queen Elizabeth too.

Please send in library books on Thursday instead of Friday as we will be having some Jubilee fun on Friday.

Good morning Nursery, 

 

This week we will continue using the story the very hungry caterpillar to learn about the life cycle of caterpillars. We will be creating butterflies using paint and collage materials. In phonics we will be learning a new sound. Last week sound was 't' what can you find round your house that starts with this sound. 

 

As the Queen's platinum jubilee is approaching we will be doing lots of fun activities to acknowledge this.

Good morning Nursery, 

 

We hope you have had a lovely weekend enjoying the sunshine. This week we will be reading the story, the Very Hungry Caterpillar and taking part in lots of learning about the story. What food do you like to eat when you are hungry? We will be sorting foods into healthy and unhealthy groups. In mathematics we will be focusing on positional language and playing some fun games using a parachute.

Good afternoon Nursery,

We hope you enjoyed your bank holiday Monday. This week we will continue to squiggle whilst we wiggle to continue developing our writing and mark making skills. We will also begin to think about how plants grow and will plant some cress seeds.

We are in our final week of the spring term, well done on all your hard work.

This week we will be listening to the story ‘We’re going on an Egg hunt. We are going to be counting and comparing Easter objects. In phonic we are going to be identifying syllables by clapping the ‘beats’ in words. We will also be taking part in Easter crafts.

We hope you had a lovely Easter break and are ready for a fun half term. We will be sharing our holiday news during circle time. We are going to be learning about growing by planting our own seeds and caring for them.  We will also be introducing squiggle while you wiggle which is a fun way to introduce writing skills.

Good morning Nursery,

We hope you had a lovely weekend enjoying the weather. Our story this week is Harry and the Bucket full of Dinosaurs.

In mathematics we will continue to compare amounts using the language ‘more’ and ‘fewer’. We will be creating lost poster giving meaning to our marks. We also have our dinosaur assembly to share with our grownups.

In mathematics we will be comparing amounts using the language 'more and 'fewer'. In phonics we will be practising hearing and identifying rhyming words such as cat and mat.

This week we are going to continue learning about dinosaurs. We are going to learn some amazing facts about dinosaurs. We are going to use our hands to make paintings of dinosaurs. 

 

In phonics we are going to learn the letter 't' can you see anything on your way to school that starts with this letter? In number we are going to count of a group of objects.

Good morning Nursery

This week we are going to have lots of fun learning about dinosaurs. We will move like a dinosaur in dance and paint dinosaur pictures too. 
In phonics we will continue to learn about the letter ‘a’. Can you think of things that start with this sound? 
We will use our counting skills this week to count lots of different objects in our nursery.

This week we will be sharing our holiday news during key group. We will celebrate Shrove Tuesday by tasting some pancakes with toppings of your choice. In PE we will be taking part in pancake races. We will also be taking part in some world book day activities.

Our story this week is Aliens Love Underpants. We will be taking part in lots of fantastic activities linked to the story and will even have a go at alien yoga. We will be learning all about number 5 so let's get counting. 

Can you think of words that start with the letter of your name? Soupy Sally, dinosaur Dave. We will be thinking of lots of words.

This week we will continue to learn about the festivities that take place during Chinese New Year so get your dancing shoes on for our dragon dance.

Good morning Nursery, 

 

We will be continuing with our work on people who help us. We will be learning about police officers and nurses and the types of jobs they do. We will be be designing and making our own police badge and taking on the role of a police officer. We will also be learning about emergency services transport and using large  construction materials to make our own models. 

In mathematics we will be learning about the number 3. We will introduce the rhyme that will help is to remember how to write it. In phonics we will learning the sound 'i', can you spot the letter 'i' on your travels this week?

This week we will be starting our people who help us topic. We will be opening our baby clinic where you can take on the roles of nurses and doctors and care for the babies. 

In mathematics we will be learning about the numbers 1 and 2. We will be learning a special rhyme and how we show these amounts. In phonics we will be learning the sound 't', can you spot the letter t on your journey to Nursery?

We hope you had a lovely weekend. This week we will be continuing with our winter topic/; by  making some hot chocolate to keep us warm on a chilly day. We will be going into the hall for our PE session where we will be playing a game of freeze. In mathematics we will be continuing our work on shapes, using 2D shapes to make pictures. Our new letter this week will be 'a', can you find anything at home that begins with the sound 'a'?

Happy New Year Nursery, 

 

We are looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow and hearing all about your Christmas during circle time. We are going to be learning about winter and the types of clothes we need to wear when its cold outside. We will also be going on a winter walk and looking for signs of winter. We are going to learn the letter 's' during our phonic sessions and focusing on 2D shapes.

This is our last week before the Christmas holidays. We will be reading lots of Christmas stories and doing some creative crafts. We will also be having our Christmas party with some party games.

We are going to have a great week with lots of festive fun. We will be continuing to learn about Advent and how to prepare for this special time. We will be learning some Christmas songs and writing letter shapes in the snow!! We will be continuing our work on repeating patterns and also looking at shapes and their properties.

Good morning Nursery, 

 

This week we will be continuing with The Tiger Who Came To Tea. We are going to be writing invitations to our friends to invite them to our tea party in Nursery.  We will be making paper chains focusing on repeating patterns and playing turn taking games at our tea party. We are also going to be writing and sending our letters to Father Christmas.

Good morning Nursery, 

 

This week we will be focusing on the story, The Tiger Who Came To Tea.  We will be using masks and props to act out the story. We are going to make shopping lists for Sophie's mummy. We will also be looking at patterns and using musical instruments to make repeating sound.

 

We are going to have another fantastic week.

Good morning Nursery, 

 

This week we will be continuing with our autumn topic by making leaf people from our autumn treasures. We will also be sorting leaves by colour and size. 

 

This week is Nursery rhyme week so we will be singing our favourite rhymes. We will also be creating some art work from different Nursery rhymes.  On Friday we will be putting a stage up for you to perform your favourite Nursery rhymes to the class.

Good morning Nursery, 

 

We hope you had a lovely weekend.  This week we will be sharing news from the weekend, did you see any fireworks? We will be going on a special walk around the school to listen carefully to the sounds that you can hear. You will be going into the hall using glow sticks to make large letter shapes in the air.  We will also be sharing our autumn treasures to create some artwork.

Good morning Nursery, 

 

We are looking forward to seeing you all. Did you go on an autumn walk and collect some autumn treasures? If you have then please bring them into school and we can look at and use them when exploring the autumn topic. 

 

We will be learning about Diwali and bonfire night using our art skills to create patterns and using musical instruments to create firework noises.
